FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A Fairfax County Police cruiser has struck a Fairfax County Public Schools bus in the Springfield area Thursday, according to Fairfax County Police.

The school bus was carrying a group of students from Mark Twain Middle School, according to a spokesman from the school district.
Four people -- two children and two adults -- have been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries according to police.

Police say the bus was on a field trip that included students, teachers and chaperones. Drivers in the area (see map below) should seek alternate routes in area, according to police.
