Police Seek Suspect in 'Reckless' Shooting Saturday in Springfield Area
Police say Rashad James, 25, was allegedly seen carrying a firearm after neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots Saturday.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police are looking for a suspect who they say is involved in the reckless discharge of a firearm in the Springfield area.

Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, Rashad James. Police say that neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots Saturday, March 19, at approximately 1:50 p.m., in the area of the 7500 block of Tralee Woods Drive in Springfield (see map below).

James was later identified as the suspect, police said, and was allegedly seen carrying a firearm.
James, 25, of no fixed address, is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, around 165 pounds, and likes to frequent the areas of Springfield and Fredericksburg, according to police. He left in an older model Green Jeep Cherokee, bearing Virginia tags – VES-9646, with a luggage rack, and a broken left parking light, police said.
