Watershed Clean-Up Day Saturday in Fairfax County
It's Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m. at various county centers and parks; goal is to rid area waterways of pollution.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — County officials are asking for the public's help in trying to make area waterways less polluted.
Toward that end, Watershed Clean-Up Day is Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m. at various county centers and parks.
The aim is to "clear our rivers, lakes and streams of debris," and families, scout troops or civic organizations are encouraged to participate.

The county says volunteers at past cleanups have pulled tires, bottles, cans, and even grills from local waterways. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
