5 Things You Need to Know Today

Meetings on financial crimes and full-day kindergarten to be held tonight, and more freezing rain may be on the way.

1) More freezing rain could be on the way tonight. Greg Shoor, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, that temperatures will stay around 32 degrees for the next two days, and the freezing rain could continue into Wednesday morning. 

2) Tom Polhemus, a retired Fairfax County detective, will be speaking on financial crimes tonight at the Sully Government Center. This is an opportunity to ask questions about identity theft, financial crimes targeting the elderly, credit card fraud and other crimes. For more information, click .

3) Do you think Fairfax County should offer full-day kindergarten to all kids? A group of parents who thinks the county should, will meet tonight to present their case to the public, and prepare for the upcoming school board budget hearings. 4) A blood drive this Friday in honor of Alex Nieves, a local teenager who is battling leukemia. Show your support by setting up an appointment ahead of time, or just walk in on that day.
