American Legion to Host Flag Retirement Ceremony

Drop off your frayed American or state flags at Fire Station 38 for proper disposal.

Centreville American Legion Post 1995 and Centreville fire station 38 will host a flag retirement ceremony on Saturday.

The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. at the fire station, which is located on O'Day Drive, near Stone Road.

If you have an old tattered or frayed American or State flag that is beyond its display days, drop it off at the Fire Station on the morning of the event or before for a proper retirement/disposal. Centreville American Legion Post 1995 will conduct a brief ceremony then retire all flags collected.  Boy Scouts will assist the Legion and fire station personnel.  Local residents are welcome to participate and/or watch the ceremony and retirements.
