Employees Pack Over 1500 Food Kits for Needy Students

As part of the company’s 14th annual Community Service Day, the employees at the Chantilly, Va., headquarters building of Long & Foster on Thursday packed more than 1,500 take-home food kits for local children who may  not have enough food to eat at home when school is not in session.

The headquarters event, which took place in front of the Long & Foster building, included nearly 350 employees packing “backpack kits” for local elementary-aged children.

The backpack kits were donated to , a Centreville, Va.-based organization created by Margaret Welker, an elementary school teacher who aimed to ensure students who receive free breakfast and lunch at school had enough to eat at home as well.
