Celebrating Earth Day in Fairfax County

Earth Week

Community Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration
Saturday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Free document shredding, wildlife demonstrations, a litter cleanup, tree walk, and displays will take place at the annual event at the . To learn more, visit the county's event page.

Watershed Cleanup
There are several watershed clean-up days taking place on Saturday. The Friends of Accotink Creek is hosting two cleanups in the Fairfax area. To read details on where, visit their website.

Celebration/Cleanup at James Lee Community Center
The in Falls Church will hold a celebration on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. Activities include a community cleanup of the center and its grounds; Earth Day crafts; seed plantings; sneaker recycling, and a reading of Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax." Roots & Shoots Earth Day Event
Thein Chantilly will host a free Roots & Shoots Earth Day event for kids ages five and older. The event is on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Activities include planting, weeding, mulching, trash clean-up and crafts for kids.

Bring a Plant, Take a Plant
