The Centreville girls’ soccer team got their season off to a fine start yesterday with a road win over a strong South County squad, 4-1.
Isabel Chang netted a pair of goals in the 41st and 43rd minutes to break open a 1-0 match. The Wildcats got the early lead in the 12th minute with a Clara Logsdon goal. A goal in the 45th minute put the game out of reach and South County’s goal with 20 minutes was a case of too little, too late.
“I think we caught them off guard,” said Centreville Coach Gary Malebranche. “We were just fortunate to bury a couple of goals at the start of the second half.”
