Update: CVHS Students Arrested Following Food Fight
Students were arrested after a food fight this afternoon.

Four students have been arrested, three of whom are in the process of being charged with assault following a food fight at the school, Fairfax County Police said Wednesday afternoon.
The food fight began during an early lunch period held for students taking a World History exam, Wednesday afternoon. Despite the fact that it was large, staff quickly brought it under control, according to the school. It was then that several students allegedly assaulted two of the staff. Around 11 a.m., a school resource officer contacted dispatch due to a disturbance at the school, police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said.
Two of the students are 16-year-old females and two are 15-year-old males, police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said. One of the male students will be charged with disorderly conduct. The three others will be charged with assault; one of the females will be charged with obstruction of justice in addition to the assault charge.

Caldwell said that the assault charges stemmed from the two school staff members being hit during the altercation. Charges against juveniles usually take a bit longer to process due to their age.
Throughout the day rumors circulated quickly throughout the community that a student was Tasered during the scuffle. Police spokesman Officer Don Gotthardt said this afternoon that a conducive energy device— a generic version of what is commonly known by the brand name, Taser—was indeed taken out of its holster by the officer but it was not deployed.
