Firefighters Rescue Two From Townhouse
Fire started around 1:38 p.m. Friday and caused minor smoke damage.
Fairfax County firefighters rescued an adult and a child from a Centreville townhouse Friday after a small fire started in the kitchen.
The firefighters found the two lying unconscious in the living room of the smoke-filled lower-level residence at 14520 Golden Oak Ln. The child was transported to for observation, said Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department Battalion Chief Keith Ludeman. The adult appears to be fine.
Firefighters from stations in Centreville, Fair Oaks and Fairfax Center were called to the residence at 1:38 p.m. and put out the fire in under five minutes. They believe the fire was related to some cooking in the kitchen.

The residence sustained light smoke damage but is otherwise fine.
