Free Child ID and Internet Monitoring Software Offered at Powell Saturday

The Fairfax County Sheriff's office is offering to provide parents with a copy of their child's fingerprints and photos.

The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office is offering to provide parents with a free photo and fingerprints of their child at the spring carnival on Saturday, March 10. The fingerprints will be scanned using inkless technology, and is helpful to law enforcement in case a child ever goes missing.

The Sheriff's Office will also provide free internet monitoring software, ComputerCOP, to help parents monitor their children's online use. The software scans computers for objectionable content like pornography, drugs and violence.

Services will be available between noon and 4 p.m.
