High School Musical Jr. Opens This Week
Forty young people present a theatrical adaptation of the popular Disney movie.
A production of High School Musical Jr., presented by 40 young local actors and a crew of 15, opens at this week.
The play is a theatrical adaptation of the wildly popular Disney movie. It tells the story of Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton, two high school students who resist peer pressure to "stick to the status quo." Troy is captain of the basketball team and Gabriella is a transfer student gifted in math in science. The story revolves around how they try to break free of stereotypes and high school cliques by trying out for the school musical.
The young actors attend schools all over the local area, including , , and high schools, along with private schools: and St. Andrew Catholic schools, Trinity Christian and . There are also actors from , Rocky Run and Liberty middle schools. Several budding young thespians attend , , and elementary schools.

Showtimes are on Feb. 2nd and 3rd at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a showing at 4 p.m. on Feb. 4th. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased in the or online. Proceeds benefit the church's summer student mission projects.
