NORAD Flight Exercises Start Tonight
Don't be alarmed if you hear low-flying jets.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the Continental United States NORAD Region will be conducting flight exercises in the Washington, D.C. area tonight.
Low-flying jets may be heard in the immediate metropolitan area as a result of the flight training.
Training flights are scheduled to start at midnight and finish up by 2 a.m. However, if there is bad weather tonight the exercise will take place the next day.

The exercise is comprised of a series of training flights held in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Capital Region Coordination Center, the Joint Air Defense Operations Center, Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard and CONR’s Western Air Defense Sector.
