Update: Pedestrian Now in Stable Condition After Being Hit by a Car
A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Monday.
Update June 14th: The young man is now in stable condition.
A pedestrian was hit by a car this afternoon and is now in life-threatening condition, a spokesman for the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Dept. said.
The adult male was hit at the corner of Stringfellow Road and Autumn Willow Drive, said Captain Willie Bailey, a spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Dept. A chopper landed at shortly afterward, to medevac the man to Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The young man was not conscious when emergency personnel arrived at the scene, but was by the time the chopper arrived.
The young man was 17 years old and sustained significant head trauma, among other injuries. A 911 call was placed at 3:09 p.m., and the car that hit the young man stayed on the scene, a spokesperson for the Fairfax County Police Department said.

Late Monday afternoon a portion of Stringfellow Road from Route 29 to Centreville Farms Road was blocked off while police investigated the cause of the accident. When Patch spoke to the police shortly before 5 p.m., authorities were not yet able to say when it would reopen.
