Sequoia Farms Swim Team Continues String of Close Meets
Stingrays face Franklin Glen on Saturday.

During this young season, the Sequoia Farms swim team has continued its run of tight meets, dating back to the middle of last season. However, this season the Stingrays have been on the winning side of the meet sheet. In the first week of the new season, after trailing at Countryside by 41 points, Sequoia managed to win the final six relays and edge the Waves by just one point.
This past Saturday the Stingray swimmers thrilled the home crowd again, winning over Hayden Village by only four points. Needless to say, because the meets have come down to the wire, the relay events have been thrilling participate in and to watch. The Stingrays next face undefeated Franklin Glen in a battle of the undefeateds.
Coaches Mark Loper and Lara Chapman have prepared the team well in the two weeks leading up to the first meet. Many personal bests have been achieved during these contests, for veterans and newcomers alike. Special congratulations go out to those who broke team records during these meets:

The showdown with undefeated Franklin Glen turned out to be another meet which came down to the last two relay events. With the Gators ahead by one point, the Sequoia Farms boy’s team was unsuccessful in gaining the points needed to put the Stingrays in the lead. Despite the Sequoia girl’s win in the final relay event, Sequoia ended up on the losing end of yet another close (six point) meet.
