Chantilly Alum to Perform Tonight in 'Proof'

Chantilly High alum, Alex Keiper, will perform the lead role in 'Proof' tonight at George Mason.

Alex Keiper, a graduate of , will perfrom in "Proof" with Philadelphia’s Walnut Street Theatre tonight at George Mason University’s on Friday, March 2 at 8 p.m. 

A working actor in Philadelphia for the past six years, Keiper will be playing the lead role of 'Catherine.' After suffering a great loss, Keiper said her character "struggles to find her own identity, as she deals with depression, mental illness and genius."

Keiper was involved with drama under the direction of Ed Monk while a student at Chantilly. Every year, they took a trip to New York to see three different shows, and Keiper watched Proof on Broadway during one of these trips.

"When I saw it, I knew that it was the type of theater I wanted to pursue," said Keiper. She is grateful to Monk for providing "opportunities to see theater and a safe and inspiring place to work on our own talents."

Keiper is looking forward to performing tonight at George Mason. "I'm thrilled to have been given the opportunity to come home with a play that has meant so much to me," said Keiper.  "It's about family, trust and talent, all things I began finding in Fairfax."
