Chantilly High School Theatre is kicking off its 2025–2026 season with a high-energy crowd favorite: Disney’s Newsies, the hit Broadway musical inspired by the real-life newsboy strike of 1899.

Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life beyond the streets. When powerful publishing giants raise distribution prices at the expense of the young newsies, Jack and his friends band together to fight back. With grit, determination, and the power of community, they take on the big guys to demand fairness and justice.

Featuring a Tony Award–winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein, Newsies delivers show-stopping numbers like “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe.” The musical is packed with thrilling choreography, soaring vocals, and an inspiring message that resonates with audiences of all ages.
