Anonymous Manassas Winner Claims $1.3 Million Lottery Prize

A Manassas man who won $1.3 million from the Virginia Lottery chose to claim the prize anonymously.

MANASSAS, VA — A Manassas man who won more than $1.3 million in the Virginia Lottery is choosing to remain anonymous.

The Manassas resident won $1,373,362 in the Palace of Dragons online game. Under Virginia law, lottery winners can claim prizes anonymously if it is $1 million or more.

The man was playing the Virginia Lottery online when he saw there were only two jackpot prizes left for the Palace of Dragons game. The jackpot typically increases as more people play. Little did he know, he would gain a seven-figure prize from the online game.

“I was in shock. I couldn’t believe it!” he told Virginia Lottery officials. “I’m still in disbelief!”

The Virginia Lottery offers dozens of online instant games in addition to Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5 and Cash 5 with EZ Match online tickets. However, players must be physically located in Virginia to use the online gaming feature.
