Chantilly High Senior Receives $10K Scholarship

Elizabeth Knippler received the scholarship from the In Hope Freedom Rings Foundation.

The Connection is reporting that Chantilly High student Elizabeth Knippler was one of two students to receive a $10,000 In Hope Freedom Rings Foundation (IHFR) scholarship.

Knippler and the other student, Hanan Awel from Robert E. Lee High, were presented with the awards by Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools Dr. Jack Dale and a representative from Rep. Gerry Connolly's office on Jan. 25 in Springfield. Local businesses funded the scholarship by making donations to the IHFR Foundation.

After spending time working at an orphanage in Guatemala, Knippler is thinking about a career in global health, according to the Connection.
