Suspect Holding Small Dog Breaks Into Sterling Woman's Home

Police said a sleeping Sterling woman opened her eyes and saw an intruder holding a small dog standing over her.

STERLING, VA — Loudoun County sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who reportedly entered a woman's home and stood over her while holding a small dog.

It happened Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. on the 21000 block of McFadden Square in Sterling when a woman taking an afternoon nap was awaken when someone turned on the lights. When she opened her eyes, she saw a man with a small dog standing behind her couch, looking at her, investigators said.

The victim confronted the intruder, then chased him out of her home.

The suspect is thought to be in his 20s and is described as a black man standing 6 foot 3 inches tall.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department.
