Arlington-Based Environmental Group Targeted by Undercover Journalists
The Huffington Post reports that Conservation International was tricked by undercover British reporters.
Conservation International, a major environmental organization based in Arlington, was targeted by British magazine reporters posing at Lockheed Martin executives, the Huffington Post reports.
Huffington Post reporter Tom Zeller Jr. writes that critics of the company claim it kowtows too much to corporate interests. The undercover operation revealed a Conservation International representative who "seems all too willing to accommodate the phony executives' needs." (Watch the video on www.huffingtonpost.com)
Defenders of the Crystal City-based organization say in the article that the sting campaign isn't damning because the Nature Conservancy, another environmental group, has previously partnered with Lockheed Martin and Conservation International already has a close connection with Northrup Grumman, another major defense contractor.
