Cherry Blossoms 2013: Weather Should Be Spring-like for Peak Bloom

The tidal basin should be picturesque for the peak bloom starting April 6.

The weather will mingle nicely with the blooming cherry blossoms this weekend, so long as the forecasts for spring-like temperatures and sunshine are correct.

The National Park Service updated its "bloom watch" cherry blossom forecast for the peak season on Thursday, now predicting that the buds will open from April 6 (Sunday) through April 8.

The only significant of rain is Friday. Temperatures will rise into the mid-60s across the region, but there is a 40 percent chance of rain, particularly in the morning, according to The Weather Channel.

Saturday, temperatures will be slightly cooler (around 60 degrees), but skies will be sunny. 

Sunday will be warm with high temperatures near 70 degrees under partly-cloudy skies.

Monday and Tuesday will be even warmer, as temperatures climb into the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies.
