Colony House Furniture to be Replaced by 8-Story Hotel
ARLnow.com reports that the furniture store on Lee Highway will be torn down.
Big business news in Rosslyn: Colony House, located at 1700 Lee Hwy., is slated for demolition and will be replaced by an 88-room hotel, ARLnow.com reports Thursday morning.
According to the article, the building and the 1.2-acre site has been sold to developer B.F. Saul. The company is in negotiations with Marriott’s Residence Inn and Hilton’s Homewood Suites to develop the property.
Colony House originally opened on Connecticut Avenue in Northwest Washington in 1936. In 1957, the high-end furniture company moved to Arlington.
