Get Out: Patch's Pick-and-Choose Weekend Planner

The National Weather Service is predicting a decent chance of thunderstorms on both Saturday and Sunday, but between your trusty umbrella and Patch's Get Out Guide, you'll be covered this weekend.

Toss out any idea of crashing on the couch with that backlog of Netflix movies you still need to get around to. We're not going to let those pesky meteorologists rain on our (Easter) parade.

Why Go: According to the event listing, this play is "Set in a time-bending, darkly comic world between heaven and hell," and it "reexamines the plight and fate of the New Testament's most infamous and unexplained sinner."

Where/When: Capital Bikeshare stations are located through D.C. - including Georgetown - and now Arlington. Join online and rent a bike at your convenience!

Why Go: The Easter Bunny is coming to Ballston a day early! There will also be a moon bounce, an egg hunt, face painting and a bike raffle.

Where/When: , 1015 N. Quincy St., Arlington. Thursday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: So - technically - this isn't really the weekend. But we wanted to make sure to include this awesome event in our Get Guide in case you wanted to get started a little early. O'Brien's collection of short stories titled "They Things They Carried" was named a New York Times' Book of the Century. Don't miss it.

5. The Kennedy Center/Dance Theatre of Harlem Community Residency Program

Where/When: The Kennedy Center Concert Hall, 2700 F St., NW, Washington. Saturday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: According to The Kennedy Center's website, "Participants in the program, now celebrating its 18th anniversary, culminate their 20 weeks of study with a choreographed performance and master class." Also, the performance is free - great reason to go.
