Police Charge Arlington Man With Abduction And Strangulation Following Choking Incident
A woman was injured early Sunday morning when a man she knew tried to choke her inside her vehicle, according to Arlington County Police.

CLARENDON, VA — An Arlington man was arrested after he tried to choke a woman he knew early Sunday morning, according to an Arlington County Police report.
The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Maurice Daniels, 33, was charged with abduction and strangulation, the police report said.

Police responded around 1:26 a.m. to a report of trouble in the area of South Courthouse Road at Fourth Street South. A woman told officers she was sitting in her vehicle with Daniels when they began to argue.
That's when Daniels attempted to choke her, according to police.

The woman tried to get out of the vehicle, but Daniels grabbed her and they struggled briefly, the report said.
Eventually, the victim was able to free herself and alert a witness, who contacted police.
