Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash: Police

The crash took place Monday afternoon, police say.

EAST MORICHES, NY β€” A motorcyclist was seriously injured in an East Moriches crash Monday afternoon, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 1:47 p.m. on Montauk Highway near Kristine Estates.

A woman was driving a 2024 Tesla Model Y westbound on Montauk Highway when she attempted to make a lefthand turn into a driveway and collided with a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was heading eastbound, police said.

The operator of the motorcycle, William Alaimo, 24, of East Moriches, was transported via ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk for treatment of serious physical injuries, police said. Neither the driver nor a juvenile passenger in the Tesla were injured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks; anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
