Firefighter Injured After House Catches Fire In Dale City On Saturday
A firefighter was injured combatting a house fire caused by improperly discarded smoking materials on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

DALE CITY, VA — One firefighter was injured while combating a house fire in Dale City on Saturday afternoon, authorities said. Their injury was not considered life-threatening, according to the fire department.
A fire broke out at a home in the 5000 block of Reardon Lane late Saturday afternoon. When crews arrived on the scene, the house was "well-involved" in flames and had heavy smoke conditions, the fire department said.
No one was home when the fire broke out, according to authorities. The house sustained significant damage and the building official deemed it unsafe to occupy. The blaze displaced three people who lived in the home, authorities said.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for an injury they suffered during the incident. Their injury was not considered life-threatening.
