A Loudoun County grand jury has indicted a West Virginia man in a 28-year cold case mystery. The body of Henry "Ricky" Ryan was found in March 1989 in a shallow grave off of Route 9 near the West Virginia border.

Dog's Death Leads to Animal Cruelty Charge Against Alexandria Man

An Alexandria man has been charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty following the death of a dog that he had taken to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
On May 27, an man allegedly dropped off a mixed-breed pit bull terrier at the animal shelter. The dog, a female named Zili, was about 11 months old and "extremely emaciated," the police said. She died days later of emaciation, dehydration and bacterial necrotizing enterocolitis, according to police. >>> Read more.
