Prince William County Public Schools: Six PWCS Finalists Will Honor Dr. King's Legacy In Virtual Presentation

The oratorical legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. continued in the young voices of student orators. Six PWCS student finalists competed virtually before a panel of judges in advance of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Oratorical Competition and Program, which will be presented at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022.

Hosted by the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta (PWCAC DST), this free MLK event will be held virtually again this year. Audience members will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite orator using a text-to-vote feature. The program will be broadcast on the PWCAC DST YouTube Channel (PWCAC-DST-MEDIA).

This year’s theme, “Beyond Dreams and Mountains: Her Voice-Her Mission,” called on students to speak on the vision of unsung heroines of the Civil Rights Movement past and present; their vision and work and how it aligns with Dr. King's vision.
