Officer Cathcart stopped, surveyed the situation, and quickly determined there was a person leaning over the edge of the overpass and in mental distress.
Officer Cathcart requested assistance of additional police officers then engaged the person in conversation. Officer Cathcart continued speaking with the person until a Co-Responder Unit with a clinician arrived. She stayed involved until appropriate assistance was given at a nearby hospital.
