The site now houses Galileo Magnet School, the RISE program, and central offices, adding modern facilities while honoring Black educational history. Students will move in after winter break, with expanded programs reaching middle schoolers.
   

4. Firefighters respond to Danville house fire, one person hospitalized with burns (wset.com) — A mid-day house fire on Mimosa Street in Danville sent one resident to the hospital with burns but was quickly contained by city firefighters. Two occupants escaped before crews arrived, and damage was limited to a small area with smoke throughout the home.
