Bradlee Shopping Center Bank Robbed Friday Afternoon

A man walked into the bank and implied he had a weapon when he robbed an Alexandria bank Friday afternoon, police said.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Wells Fargo Bank at Alexandria's Bradlee Shopping Center was robbed Friday afternoon, according to Alexandria Police.

Police released a description Friday night of the suspect in the armed robbery: The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall with a large build. He was wearing a grey and black coat, blue jeans, grey and white tennis shoes, and a black baseball cap.

Police say he walked into the bank at about 2:05 p.m. Friday, passed a teller a note demanding cash and implied he had a weapon. Police sent out an alert about the robbery Friday at 2:36 p.m.

Police ask that anyone with information about this incident call Detective Michael Whelan at 703.746.6228.

No one was injured during the robbery, according to police.
