Dairy Godmother Proposes Change to Hours

Del Ray institution selling frozen custard and baked goods, The Dairy Godmother, is requesting a change to its hours.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- For customers of The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray, there may soon be more hours in the day to enjoy the institution's frozen custard and baked goods. Owner Elizabeth Davis has filed paperwork with the City to open the doors earlier, at 8 a.m.

Located at 2310 Mt. Vernon Ave. and operating since 2000, the business' current hours change depending on the week and the season. The earliest opening time currently is 10 a.m. and closing time is at 10 p.m. The proposed earlier hours, according to the application to the planning commission, "allows for flexibility of a traditionally seasonal restaurant and ability to respond to local market demand." The new hours would be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Dairy Godmother is closed on Tuesdays.

This time of year, The Dairy Godmother is offering holiday goodies including Frozen Custard Buche de Noel, Frozen Custard Cakes, Frozen Truffles, Holiday Cookie Platters and Homemade Marshmallows. Be sure to place an order for guaranteed availability. Email: Liz@thedairygodmother.com
