Be sure to bring your singing voice to the tree lighting for Christmas caroling with local singer/songwriter Kate Moran as well as the Shrinemonters, and local school choirs including the T.C. Williams High School Choir.

Visitors will get a chance to warm up with some hot chocolate courtesy of Evening Star and Buzz Bakery, take photos with Santa (photos will likely be completed by 7 p.m. so plan accordingly) and admire more than 2,000 luminarias lighting up the Avenue in memory of Nancy Dunning, a popular local real estate agent whose death stunned the community in 2003. Every year since Dunning's death, items are collected in her memory and donated to Carpenter's Shelter.
