Delivery Truck Snaps Large Tree Branch on Windsor Avenue
Windsor Avenue is not a designated truck route.
Alexandria police responded to a delivery truck that snapped a large tree branch hanging over the road in the first block of E. Windsor Avenue on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The large tree branch lodged between the truck’s cab and cargo space as it was driving east on E. Windsor Avenue between Commonwealth and Clyde avenues.
After police responded to the scene, a crew arrived to saw the branch into pieces and remove it from the road.

Windsor Avenue is not a designated truck route in Alexandria. Delivery trucks are supposed to use East and West Glebe Road and East Monroe Avenue to reach businesses on Mount Vernon Avenue.
In August 2012, a delivery truck knocked over a tree on Mount Vernon Avenue while it was attempting to park.
