Get a Free Cone Tuesday at Ben & Jerry's in Old Town

Tuesday, April 9 if free cone day at Ben & Jerry's on Union Street in Old Town.

The Vermont-based ice cream company has held its annual Free Cone Day promotion every spring since 1979—its first year in business.

The shop is giving away the classic flavors along with new scoops of Candy Bar Pie and Liz Lemon Greek Frozen Yogurt.

The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray is closed on Tuesdays, so its probably safe to consider it not cheating on the neighborhood.

Ben & Jerry's is located at 103 S. Union St. in Old Town, across the street from Virtue Feed & Grain. 

Carpenter's Shelter will be collecting donations while U.S. Rep. Jim Moran (D-8th) will be scooping from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

If you're stuck on Mount Vernon Avenue on Tuesday, you can buy some cold creamed goodness at Artfully Chocolate.
