Get Ready for Turkey Trot 2016 in Del Ray

The 41st annual Alexandria Turkey Trot is set for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 2016.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Gobble, gobble! It's that time again. The 41st annual Alexandria Turkey Trot is coming up next week on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, and registration for the popular race in the heart of Del Ray is underway. You can sign up now and still sign up until the day of the race. If you register at the race, they'll only accept checks or cash.

Prizes will be handed out to those who finish first, second and third in various categories. Habtamu Arga 23:31 (2015) and Susanna Sullivan, 27:11 (2015) are the overall male and female winning runners from last year. You can register online here.

The race takes place at George Washington Middle School, 1005 Mt. Vernon Ave.

T-shirt: Optional, $10. Order online to be sure your size is available. A limited number will be available for purchase on race day, but are usually sold out by 9:30 a.m.

Packet pickup: George Washington Middle School from 6-8 pm on Wednesday the 23th, starting at 7:30 am at George Washington Middle School on Thanksgiving morning.

Course: Flat, fast, USATF-certified 5 MIile course, starts and ends at George Washington Middle School.
