Northside 10 Restaurant Now Open for Business at 10 E. Glebe Road in Alexandria

Restaurant's menu shares favorites from group's Southside 815 menu including burgers, wings, pulled pork, fresh seafood and salads.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- New Alexandria restaurant Northside 10 is now open for business as of Monday lunchtime, at 10 E. Glebe Road. The new eatery's name is a play on its address. The owners also run popular Southside 815 on the other end of Alexandria, at 815 S. Washington St.

The owners say their goal is to create a friendly neighborhood gathering spot, serving up a menu that will embrace customer favorites. In addition to a place to gather to watch sports in the restaurant bar, the owners have said they are also excited about creating special culinary family-friendly events, like oyster roasts, for the neighborhood.

The new restaurant is at the former location of longtime Alexandria institution Chez Andrée. The family-run French restaurant was a go-to spot for many Alexandria residents for more than 50 years when it closed its doors last year.

Business partners in the new restaurant -- Gregory Dushaw, Hubert Benson, John Kurtz, Kevin Keefer and Teresa Keefer -- have made renovations to the building including to the kitchen and bathrooms.

The new restaurant's menu shares some of the favorites from the group's Southside 815 restaurant menu including burgers, wings, pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, fresh seafood and salads and much more, Kurt has said. Kurtz is the longtime general manager for Southside 815. Teresa Keefer oversees the kitchen at the new restaurant, as she does at Southside 815. She has also worked at Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston.
