Northside 10 Restaurant Opening in Alexandria Pushed Back to Next Week
Owners of new restaurant in Alexandria are waiting on a few permit check-offs from City before opening, likely next week. Stay tuned!

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Like most new restaurants, Northside 10 is waiting on some permit check-offs before they can open their doors in Alexandria. A hoped-for opening today (Tuesday) is being pushed back about a week to get those completed, which was difficult to do during the holiday season, the owners said Tuesday.
Meridian Place Foods Group, the owners of Northside 10, the "northside" cousin to Southside 815 in Alexandria, are now looking to open mid-week next week. The restaurant is located at 10 E. Glebe Road in Alexandria (see map below).
The owners say their goal is to create a friendly neighborhood gathering spot, serving up a menu that will embrace customer favorites. In addition to a place to gather to watch sports in the restaurant bar, the owners have said they are also excited about creating special culinary family-friendly events, like oyster roasts, for the neighborhood.

The new restaurant will be opening at the location of former longtime Alexandria institution Chez Andrée. The family-run French restaurant was a go-to spot for many Alexandria residents for more than 50 years when it closed its doors last year.
Business partners in the new restaurant -- Gregory Dushaw, Hubert Benson, John Kurtz, Kevin Keefer and Teresa Keefer -- have made renovations to the building including to the kitchen and bathrooms.

The new restaurant's menu will share some of the favorites from the group's Southside 815 restaurant menu including pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, fresh seafood and salads and much more, Kurt has said. Kurtz is the longtime general manager for Southside 815. Teresa Keefer will oversee the kitchen at the new restaurant, as she does at Southside 815. She has also worked at Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston.
They expect 30 to 35 employees to work at the location and do not plan on expanding the building so there will still be the same number (47) of parking spaces as before. They hope to feature live acoustic music at Northside 10. Hours will be 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Outdoor seating during the warmer months, will also continue; hours for outdoor seating will end one hour earlier.
