ALEXANDRIA, VA -- If you are planning on visiting Pentagon City Sunday, be aware that there will be a training exercise being conducted.
The Arlington County Police Department, The Office of Emergency Management, The Arlington County Fire Department, and Fashion Centre at Pentagon City personnel will be conducting an active shooter training exercise, Arlington County Police announced this week.
The purpose of the exercise is to test the response of Arlington County’s public safety agencies and mall staff in a simulated emergency situation, police said.

All training activities will be confined to the interior of the mall, according to police. There will be a large number of public safety vehicles in the area of Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. The vehicles will not use their lights or sirens during the exercise.
There will be limited parking available and pedestrian access to the mall will be restricted after 6 p.m. Sunday.
