Pedestrian, 49, Dies After Getting Hit by a Car Thursday in Alexandria: Police

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The pedestrian struck during a traffic crash at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and W. Glebe Road on Thursday has died of her injuries, the Alexandria City Police Department announced Sunday.

She has been identified as Rosemarie Cruz, 49, of Alexandria.

An online fundraiser was started for Cruz, hit by a car Thursday at Mt. Vernon Avenue and W. Glebe Road. The driver, a 77-year old woman, remained on the scene and Cruz was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
