UPDATE: New Details in Pedestrian Crash in Alexandria
Alexandria police are investigating a crash Thursday night that sent a pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Alexandria Police have released new details Friday afternoon in the Thursday crash that sent a pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 5:10 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the area for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Mt. Vernon Avenue and W. Glebe Road. Initial investigation, police said, indicates a 49-year-old woman was crossing the street when a 77-year-old woman struck her with her vehicle. The driver remained on the scene, police said. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the incident. The investigation is ongoing. Alexandria Police ask that witnesses or people with information regarding this incident contact Sergeant Greg Holden at 703.746.6184.
