Photo Gallery: Del Ray Variety Opening Celebration

Del Ray Variety, a new store located at 203 E. Custis Ave., held its grand opening on Saturday morning.

The event included games and activities for children, animal adoptions from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, and food from Del Ray Pizzeria, Caboose Bakery and Pork Barrel BBQ.

U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, Mayor Bill Euille and other city officials participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We got a store we needed and wanted,” said Moran, a former Del Ray resident. “They have things in here you don’t even know you need. …It’s another place that makes Del Ray a good place to live, work… and shop.”
