ICYMI: Bank Robbery Suspect: FBI Releases Surveillance Images

The FBI and Alexandria Police are hoping someone recognizes the suspect in the Monday morning robbery of a bank in Del Ray.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The FBI has released photos of the suspect in a Monday morning bank robbery in Alexandria.

On Monday, at approximately 10:06 a.m., an unknown male robbed the SunTrust Bank located at 2809 Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria, the FBI said Tuesday. The unknown individual entered the bank, passed a note to the teller and demanded money.

No weapon was displayed. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the subject then fled the bank on foot, the FBI noted. No one apparently saw which way the suspect headed after leaving the bank.

Surveillance cameras at the bank captured images of the suspect: a male, possibly Indian the FBI said, about 5'5" with a thin build, wearing a black vest, green, blue and white untucked plaid shirt, faded jeans, glasses and baseball cap, according to the FBI. In the photo, the vest appears to be a Polo Ralph Lauren vest, with a large logo on one side and an American flag on the other. The baseball cap is a white hat with a black brim with an Oakland Raiders logo.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of this bank robber. The FBI's Washington Field Office and the Alexandria Virginia Police Department are investigating this bank robbery and request that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or the Alexandria Police Department non-emergency number at 703-746-4444.
