Shakthi South Asian Cuisine Opens on Mount Vernon Avenue
New Arlandria restaurant specializes in Indian, Thai and Sri Lankan cuisine.

Shakthi South Asian Cuisine recently opened its doors at 3807 Mount Vernon Ave. in the space the housed Po Siam for more than 25 years.
In June, Po Siam owner Nirum βNickyβ Vongpukkeaw filed a change of ownership applicationΒ with the city for a new restaurant. Vongpukkeaw still owns the building but handed the restaurant over to Sheela and Stanley Perera, owners of the Subway in the Mount Vernon Village Shopping Center.
Shakthi offers a menu featuring a fusion of cuisines from India, Thailand and the Pererasβ native Sri Lanka.
