Virginia Weekend Weather: Warming Up, Mostly Sunny
Look for temperatures to warm up from Friday into Saturday, with mostly sunny skies until rain threatens later Sunday.
STERLING, VA — Although Northern Virginia could see some rain drops Thursday, forecasters say it's shaping up to be a perfect fall weekend.
The National Weather Service is predicting sunny skies with temperatures in the 60s on Friday and warming up even more Saturday and Sunday, with high temperatures in the low 70s and sunny skies, mainly on Saturday. Rain chances return on Sunday.
The current Halloween forecast is a high of 61 on Monday but cooling to 56 degrees as kids head out for candy.

Here's a more detailed look at the forecast for Northern Virginia from the National Weather Service:
- Friday: Sunny. Highs in the lower 60s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
- Friday night: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 40s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming southwest after midnight.
- Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
- Saturday night: Mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 50s.
- Sunday: Partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of showers. Highs in the lower 70s.
