Residents Report Mailboxes Damaged: Police

The latest crime report from Fairfax City Police also includes a forging records arrest and assault on a police officer.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- The following are some of the most recent crimes reported by the Fairfax City Police:

  • Forging Records Arrest 16-04719: Fairfax Boulevard / Pickett Road – On March 25 at 8:43 AM an officer investigating an accident in which a pedestrian was struck determined that the pedestrian was at fault and issued him a summons for failing to cross at a crosswalk. It subsequently was determined that the subject had provided false identifying information and shown a fraudulent Honduran passport. Cristian Galdames, 59, of no fixed address, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with forging public records, giving false information to law enforcement and possession of a fictitious operator’s license. His bond was set at $4500.
  • Assault on Police Officer Arrest 16-04734: 3951 Pickett Road / Fair City Mall – On March 25 at 12:40 PM officers responded to a report of a male subject disturbing shoppers and determined that he was intoxicated. As officers were attempting to take him into custody he spit on one officer and kicked a second officer. Darnell Marquese Dixon, 26, of no fixed address, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with two felony counts of assaulting a police officer and drunk in public. Subsequently a report was received from Fairfax County Fire Station 23 that while personnel from the station had been at the mall, Dixon had approached their apparatus and thrown a bottle at it while yelling at them. Dixon was also charged with throwing a missile at an occupied vehicle. He was ordered held without bond. The officers did not require medical treatment.
  • Assault 16-04750: 10012 Main Street / Pupuseria El Buen Gusto – On March 25 at 4:11 PM the 30 year old female victim reported that during the course of an argument with a female co-worker she had been struck on the head and face and thrown to the ground. The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.
  • Vandalism 16-04765: 3910 University Drive / 7-Eleven – On March 27 at 8:38 PM the owner reported that unknown person(s) had written graffiti on a storage area fence.
  • Vandalism 16-04846: 3800 Block of Farr Oak Circle / 10100 Block of Farrcroft Drive – On March 27 at 7:24 AM numerous residents reported that sometime after 10:00 PM on March 26 unknown person(s) had damaged their mailboxes.
  • Larceny from Vehicles 16-04851: 10200 Block of Rodgers Road – On March 27 at 10:14 AM the residents reported that on March 15 unknown person(s) had stolen two tablet computers and currency from their unlocked parked vehicles.
