Stabbing Suspect Found After Unrelated Assault In Manassas: Cops

A man wanted in a stabbing incident earlier this month was arrested after being involved in a domestic assault in Manassas, say PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man wanted in a stabbing incident earlier this month was arrested Tuesday after being involved in a domestic assault in the 7400 block of Emerald Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Jason Todd Cook, 45, of the aforementioned area, was charged with abduction, malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery.

Around midnight, police went to the scene for a reported assault. They found that Cook and a 57-year-old woman had been in an argument that escalated, during which he hit her in the face and prevented her from leaving a room. Cook eventually left the residence, and the woman contacted police. He was found that afternoon on Gambril Drive in Manassas.

Cook also had been sought in the Jan. 6 stabbing of a man in the 10500 block of Lariat Lane, according to PWC Police. Shortly after midnight, police arrived for a reported stabbing. They found a 36-year-old victim suffering from a stab wound to the upper body, and also found he was intoxicated and wanted out of Prince William County for failing to appear.

After being arrested and taken to jail, he consented to medical treatment and eventually was taken to a local hospital for serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Police eventually determined he had been involved in an argument with an acquaintance—Cook—that escalated, during which he was stabbed. Cook fled the area in a white car with Florida license plates.
