Several Starbucks locations in Washington DC and Northern Virginia will soon begin offering their new "Starbucks Evenings" menu, which includes an assortment of wine and craft beer, along with shareable small plates.

Starbucks Evenings is designed to offer customers a place to relax in the evening, to grab a coffee or glass of wine and bite to eat.

The concept was launched a few years ago by the company in Washington state, Oregon, Chicago, Atlanta and a few other locations.

The first Starbucks Evenings location in Northern Virginia was launched a few years ago at Dulles International Airport, where they begin serving beer and wine at 12 noon because of the heavy daytime traffic. Most Starbucks Evenings menus begin at 4 p.m., according to the company. The "Evenings" menu at Dulles includes various small plates (truffle mac and cheese, warmed rosemary and brown sugar cashews), salads (baby arugula with fresh basil and pickled beets) sandwiches (fire grilled chicken and goat cheese), flat breads (roasted artichoke, zucchini, tomato and Parmesan) and desserts (chocolate fondue with strawberries, marshmallows and cookies).

The menus vary by region.

Starbucks is now hoping to roll out the concept across more stores in Northern Virginia, targeting Tuesday for select area stores and the week of April 11 for DC stores.
