Police say that a distressed area resident with a weapon will be evaluated and be provided any services that might be necessary.
UPDATE: 3:55 p.m.: Fairfax County Police say a stand-off at a Clifton residence was resolved peacefully Monday afternoon, after about six hours that tied up two roads, Henderson Court and Henderson Road.
The distressed male,20, was taken into custody, police said, and he'll be evaluated and given any services he might need.
Police said earlier that the young man had some kind of a weapon, possibly a gun, and that other family members in the home left without incident before the stand-off began with police just before 10 a.m. Monday. Family members had contacted police shortly after 9 a.m. A SWAT team mobilized outside the home in Fairfax County's Clifton area Monday morning. Personnel from Mobil Crisis and from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department were also called to the scene.
